TYPES OF ADHD
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a common neurodevelopmental disorder, affecting 2–5% of children and adults. ADHD is characterized by symptoms of inattention and/or hyperactivity.
ADHD is not a disease, but when it negatively affects several areas of life, precision nutrition can be essential in maintaining brain performance, helping to improve focus, attention and productivity.
TYPE INATTENTIVE
- Low dopamine activity
- Excess copper
- Low GABA activity
- Zinc deficiency
TREATMENT
APPROACH
- Increase neurotransmission at dopamine and GABA
receptors;
- inhibit the expression of DAT reuptake proteins
and promote GABA synthesis;
- increase nutrients zinc and B6.
TYPE HYPERACTIVE AND IMPULSIVE
- Excessive activity at norepinephrine and adrenaline receptors
- Copper Overload
- Reduce the neurotransmission of norepinephrine and adrenaline;
- normalize serum copper and plasma zinc, folate, B12, B6 and GABA.
TYPE COMBINED = TYPE INATTENTIVE + TYPE HYPERACTIVE AND IMPULSIVE
- Mixture of both types of ADHD.
