TYPES OF DEPRESSION
MAJOR
DEPRESSIVE DISORDER OR DISORDER (MDD): The most common type of depression,
it is characterized by deep and persistent sadness that goes beyond normal mood
swings.
DYSTHYMIA
(PERSISTENT DEPRESSIVE DISORDER): Also known as “bad mood disease”,
dysthymia is a disorder that presents practically the same symptoms as major
depression, but with mild and persistent symptoms of bad mood in addition to

DEPRESSION: Common in women with ADHD. Lower serum zinc levels may predict
postpartum depressive symptoms.
PSYCHOTIC
DEPRESSION: It is a subtype of major depression that can also appear in the
case of bipolar disorders. It is a serious form of the disease, and manifests
itself by causing the person to have hallucinations and delusions.
SEASONAL
DEPRESSION OR SEASONAL AFFECTIVE DISORDER: It is related to occasional
situations such as weather factors, winter or lack of sunlight, for example,
which have a direct relationship with the brain's endocrine glands and lack of
vitamins such as vitamin D.
