What is the difference between nutrigenetics and nutrigenomics?

Nutrigenetics: involves the study of how individual genetic variability influences responses to dietary components, as well as understanding how nutrients and bioactive compounds are associated with health or disease in individuals taking into account the individual genome. Example: MTHFR SNP and folate.

Nutrigenomics: this is the study of the interaction of dietary components with the human genome, their impact on gene expression, the structure and function of proteins and their metabolites, as well as the results on health or the development of diseases.Example: COMT and polyphenols.
